Bring Your ZED RUN Horse
The Great Migration: your ZED horses aren't dead — they race again on ROX as themselves, keeping their own name, blood and genotype.
Teleport Your Zed Horse NowZED RUN shut down on February 28, 2025 — and its replacement couldn't even use the old horses. But if you owned them, here's what their servers going dark didn't change: your horses still exist. They are NFTs on Polygon — the same chain ROX runs on — sitting in your wallet right now. The game died. The horses didn't.
The Great Migration lets them race again — as themselves.
Your horse stays your horse
This is the part we want to be unambiguous about, because it is the whole design:
We do not convert your horse into a ROX horse. It arrives as a ZED horse and races as one. It keeps its own bloodline, its own genotype, its own coat and its own name.
| what it keeps | what it starts fresh |
|---|---|
| Bloodline — Nakamoto, Szabo, Finney, Buterin | Number of races |
| Genotype — Z11 stays Z11 | Win rate and place rate |
| Coat colour, breed type, gender | Level and starting level |
| Super Coat and Super Breed | Its class — it arrives in Class VII |
| Its name — permanently |
Nothing is translated into ROX terms. A Szabo does not become a Starfire. There is no Starfire on your horse and there never was — and handing you an approximation of your own animal would be the opposite of bringing it back.
The one thing you will choose is its home planet. ZED has no planet trait, so there is no answer to carry across — you will pick where your horse belongs. That choice is not in the teleport flow yet; until it is, a teleported horse arrives without a home planet.
Its name is locked, on purpose
A migrated horse cannot be renamed — not by you, not by a later owner, not by us. The name came across with the horse, and it is the part of a ZED stable that people actually remember. It is enforced in the database, not by a rule we promise to keep.
Two species on one track
ROX horses and ZED horses race against each other, but they are different species and their traits are not one scale.
| species | bloodlines |
|---|---|
| ROX | Cosmo · Neutron · Starfire · Hyperion |
| ZED | Buterin · Finney · Szabo · Nakamoto |
| Chimera — mixed | Supernova · Blazar · Magnetar · Zenith |
That protects both sides. ROX owners keep their scarcity — there are 102 Hyperions and migration cannot add one, because no ZED horse can ever become a Hyperion. And ZED owners keep their rarity meaning what it meant: a Nakamoto is still the top of its own ladder.
The rules of the ladder
A migrated horse gets no shortcuts — and that's the point. Whatever it won in the old world, here it starts at the bottom like every unproven horse, pays the same entry fees, and climbs by winning paid races — the free Maiden is training and gives no points. When a ZED survivor fights its way into Group company, it will have earned it under our lights.
It arrives unrated, which is where every unproven horse starts, and that puts it in Class VII. It can run the free Maiden races too. We are not carrying a Level 228 across; that number was earned in a different game, against different horses, under different rules.
Breeding — and the third species
Two ZED horses can breed, and their foal is a ZED horse, on the ZED ladder, under exactly the same odds matrix ROX horses use.
A ZED horse and a ROX horse can also breed — and the foal is neither. It is a Chimera: mixed blood, with its own four bloodlines. The name is literal. In genetics a chimera is an organism carrying two sets of DNA, which is precisely what that foal is.
The rule that keeps everyone honest: a mixed foal can never be a Hyperion, and never a Nakamoto. Neither crown is reachable by crossing. Zenith is the mixed crown and stands behind the same wall Hyperion does — the only pairing that produces one is Hyperion × Nakamoto, the top of both ladders at once, which is rarer than owning two Hyperions.
The odds are the same published matrix, reused per ladder. Mixed breeding is not easier, not harder, and not a shortcut to anything. See Breeding & Stud for the tables.
Not open yet. The bloodline rules are live, but the rest of the genetics — genotype derivation, starting rating, the crown cap — still only knows the ROX names. Rather than let a mixed foal be born half-defined, a ROX × ZED cover is refused outright until that work is finished. We would rather say "not yet" than hand you a horse we cannot fully describe.
Custody — and getting your horse back
To race, your horse comes into ROX custody at
0x4508fEb1d6c52A2D3dEC01720a42976119109871
That is what lets it enter a gate, carry a record and change hands instantly — the same arrangement every ROX horse lives under, and the reason you never sign a wallet transaction to enter a race. You top up a balance and you play.
You can take it back out whenever you want. Withdraw it to your own wallet and it returns to being an ordinary NFT you can sell anywhere — OpenSea or otherwise. While it is out, it cannot race, cannot be listed here and cannot be auctioned here, and any open listing or pending breeding offer is cancelled. Transfer it back and it wakes up exactly as it was, with its record, its form and its foals intact.
Withdrawing is a choice between racing it and holding it yourself. It is not a penalty, and nothing is lost either way.
What we never touch
Your ZED horse's artwork belongs to its old creators, so ROX never copies or displays it. What we read is yours alone: the token, the ownership, the name, the traits. Your horse runs in the ROX engine, under its own name, on your terms.
Its coat is its own too. ZED colours are not part of the ROX palette and are not listed there — a different species wears different colours. What a mixed foal will wear is genuinely undecided, and we would rather say that than invent an answer and quietly change it later.
There is no trade-in
You never give your ZED horse up, and you do not exchange it for a ROX one.
What actually happens is better, and it is live. Teleport brings the horse itself across — the same horse, its name, bloodline, genotype and coat carried over verbatim, nothing translated into ROX terms. It costs nothing, it does not consume a genesis slot, and it is reversible: the owner can take the horse home to their own wallet again whenever they like. You are not exchanging anything, so there is nothing to buy back.
When
The migration desk opens after the genesis mint. Watch the official channels — ZED owners will be the first to know. Until then: your horses are safe exactly where they are. They've waited this long; they can smell the track from here.
Want proof your horses survived? The teleport desk at /teleport-zed reads the ZED contract on Polygon live — paste any wallet and see its horses, right now, no connection needed.
